Adrenaline Crush, Booty Vicious, Leigh Featherstone and Pow Pow.

These names would fit pretty well in a drink menu, but they mean much more than that. These are some of the skating names from the women at the Silicon Valley Roller Girls. Created in 2007, the roller derby league is led by a five-member volunteer board of directors.

One of the main challenges the girls face in 2014 isn’t in the rink — it’s the rink itself. Unfortunately, San Jose Skate, the place where they practice at the moment, will close permanently on June 1. The league wants to raise $20,000 by June and created an online crowdfunding project.
