The Chefs Among Us, Part II — Fashion sourcer turned chef (VIDEO)

A former fashion sourcer for major national retailers found inspiration in the kitchen and now teaches Indian cooking in the Bay Area.

This is the second video of a three-part series, “The Chefs Among Us,” which chronicles the stories of cooking instructors in the Bay Area who bring elements of their past professions to the kitchen. View Part I, which features a retired physicist turned cooking instructor.

Even after working long days in New York’s fashion world, Nalini Mehta used to find that teaching cooking classes was relaxing. These days in San Francisco, Mehta teaches Indian cooking full-time through her business, “Route to India.” This video features a cooking class where Mehta demonstrates how to make a popular South Indian crepe, the dosa.
