The issue of medical marijuana in California cities in Palo Alto is a complicated one: the convergence of conflicting federal, state, and local laws can make it difficult for residents to know what is – and is not – legal.
Tuesday, Palo Alto voters will decide on ballot Measure C, which would allow the building of medical marijuana dispensaries in the city. The Peninsula Press recently hosted a panel to discuss the measure, and Palo Alto City Attorney Molly Stump was among the panelists.
In the following podcast, hear what Stump had to say about the city’s current law, the changes that would result if voters pass Measure C, and the role existing federal, state and local laws will play in implementing the measure.
