Susan Manheimer is San Mateo’s first female chief of police, but she never considered police work until she and her daughter were victims of a 1982 robbery.
In this video, Manheimer shares her story, as well as her philosophy on law enforcement and how her children followed in her footsteps. Her son is a U.S. Marine, and her daughter is a prosecutor in San Mateo County.
