Amidst controversy over lead in the soil, Cupertino approves first off-leash dog park
Despite unusually elevated levels of lead and traces of other hazardous materials, Cupertino officials voted to build a dog park on Mary Avenue.

Water attractions to replace E. coli contaminated sandboxes in Redwood City (VIDEO)
After identifying sandboxes in two Redwood City parks that were contaminated with E. coli bacteria, the city is renovating the parks, removing the sandboxes and replacing them with water attractions.
