Weeks away from the World Cup, Bay Area celebrates Brazilian heritage at soccer game

A soccer match between the San Jose Earthquakes and FC Dallas had an extra flavor on Saturday: a bit of Brazilian culture. Capoeira, Portuguese speakers and people in green and yellow celebrated the country that will host the World Cup in June.

BayBrazil, a nonprofit organization, hosted the second edition of Brazilian Heritage Night. The game was at the Earthquakes’ stadium, but the Brazilians had an eye for Dallas — Michel, a Brazilian soccer player, is part of the team.
