Alicia Purcell is not the average singer in your local chamber choir. An Indiana native turned Bay Area resident, Purcell is currently a private voice instructor and a professional opera and concert singer.
In years past, Purcell performed in a myriad of concerts at some of the world’s most famous venues: Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in New York City and the Chicago Symphony. She even made an appearance at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Italy.
Having started her professional career 35 years ago, Purcell is quite an acclaimed teacher. She has a master’s degree in voice from Indiana University at Bloomington and performed as a professional for 35 years. After teaching voice at Indiana University at South Bend for eight years, Purcell moved to Los Altos to pursue private voice instruction in addition to performing. In Los Altos, she now teaches voice lessons to junior high, high school, college students and adults.
